Lowri picks: Coat of Arms - What You Need
Unknown Artist - What You Need (Coat Of Arms Mix) (Pets Recordings) by Coat Of Arms Music
Turns out that Coat of Arms are dead right - this is exactly what I need. Deep, grooving house with a sexed up vocal to make me close my eyes on the dancefloor. This is the new project of the super brilliant Bristol producer Eats Everything and Birmingham deep house kid Chris James. Deep, groovy and damn cool. More please.
Tom picks: Phil Asher – Piano
Phil Asher feat Dwala - Piano by RSTLSS TRX
House music and the piano have been in an inseparable relationship ever since Marshall Jefferson tinkled the ivories on his Chicago anthem Move Your Body. As much as I love the big-impact chords, it's great to hear the instrument get a proper run out with a bit of freedom, as is done here. Stick some ace sun-drenched percussion alongside it and you've got a fine release from Mr Asher (who was on fine form in the Boiler Room last week). Don't let this release slide under your radar.
Emma picks: Bicep - $tripper
BICEP | $TRIPPER by BICEP
Love Fever have been thowing wicked, intimate warehouse parties in East London for the last few years, booking all sorts of DJs from Nicky Siano to Move D and Jimmy Edgar. Residents Andy Bird and Alex Bradley have now started a record label using the Feel my Bicep boys' $tripper as their launch track. Evoking some seriously sexy '90s house vibez, it's not yet been released but it's had a lot of attention already due to its frequent appearances on Love Fever's set lists. Hot off the vinyl press next week.
