Every week the hardworking souls behind our clubbing desk give you their pick of the tunes that are tearing up town this week. Only two picks this time, back to the usual three next week.

Tom picks: Genesis Elijah over Mike Lowery by Skepta

Not an official release but it's got the seal of approval from Skepta himself who has been bigging it up online. I love the beat, it's a creeper, it just gets better and better and Skepta's original bars are great. But Genesis Elijah's rhymes are grimier than most grime artists and with a flow like heavy snowmelt he really has basically shut down this instrumental. I'll still play my 12' of Jah Bless out, and people still come up and demand to know who did it, 6 years later it really is a mystery to me why Genesis Elijah isn't a bigger name.

Netti picks: Make Up My Mind - Hackman (PTN 2011)

Hackman's name first appeared on the likes of Rinse FM in 2009 with artists such as Roska, Joy Orbison and Cooly G. Recent productions have seen him slide his way up the house/ 2 step/ funky charts. Made Up My Mind is a tidy house beat, weighted by some of his signature bass and flirting with a touch of funky. The easy female vocals and repetition give it a hypnotising fluidity. This house track has got subtle energy that's destined to get dance-floors bouncing. Due to release an album soon, it's definitely one to anticipate.
