Tom A picks: Robert Owens - One Body (Nicholas interpretation) Robert Owens - One Body - Nicholas Interpretation (Short Preview) by Nicholas

Musical bandwagons aren't always a bad thing you know. Fair enough you get the annoying Dalston hipsters claiming something as their own which has always been there, hiking prices up 300% in the process (I'm a slightly bitter original East Londoner, in case you hadn't noticed), but it means a sound which has been lying relatively dormant for years can suddenly explode onto dancefloors again. It happened with disco and now it's happening with Chicago house. Trax have got a brilliant remix album out and now old masters like Robert Owens have got new material being remixed by current producers like the brilliant Nicholas. It's all good, see! Share the love.

Ebony picks: Donae'o – I (Sean McCabe Remix)

Donae'o - I (Sean McCabe Remix) Strictly Rhythm by seanmccabe

Most commonly on the UK soulful house circulation mix , Doneao is the soulful vocalist ambassador, his voice blends well with the vibe. If you've heard a UK soulful/house mix with the exclusion of Donea'o; then surely it's an antique. It comes of no surprise that Sean McCabe remixes Doneao's- 'I' track taken from the Party Hard album.

Sean McCabe adds a synth edge, thus adding an electronic reverb to the background sound, changing the original tone of the track. The echoing piano throughout, creates a different genre to the original. Taking away the base, deep soul element. Sean McCabe travels with the sound merging beats, bringing it to the current, making a disco house success. Definitely on repeat on my Soundcloud play list this month.

Joj picks: Lifecycle - Correcting Fluid (Ochre remix) RIC011D Lifecycle - Correcting Fluid (Ochre rmx) by Ricochet Records

It’s been difficult to select a favourite off of Lifecycle’s newly released Correction Fluid EP, but after some consideration, it is the remix of the title track (by Ochre) that has all of the techno depth and the dancefloor energy I demand.

Starting from an expansive euphoric plateau and piling on layers of ambient noise-scapery to create a veritable wall of sound, a drastic and unexpected switch in pace takes us clear round the corner and into dark and groovy breakbeat territory. I’m not entirely sure at which specific dance floor one might find this track, but I do know that I need to find it, quickly.
