Variety is the spice of life.

Lowri picks: Super Thug - Sedge Warbler
Super Thug--Sedge Warbler-(DANK REFUCK) by DANk *gravy*

The lyrics in this tune begin with a mock conversation between rap music and disco. Needless to say, rap leads by example. So, my advice is to kick off the weekend with this extreme belter. It's from Sedge Warbler - a wonderfully named side project of South Africa's DANk - a producer who was 'seeing how hard he could go' with this release on Skanky Panky Records.

The answer? Plug in your headphones my friend. This really goes the extra mile with it's drumstep rhythm and almost ridiculous vocals. It appeals to the baser part of my nature. And it's a FREE DOWNLOAD. Screwface Friday.

Tom picks: Joyce Muniz - Morning Love Joyce Muniz - Morning Love (ft. Louie Austen) by ilouify

A deep, soulful groove with a distinctly European sound, this one will come into its own in the warmer months and hopefully bring Brazilian born DJ/producer Joyce Muniz some well deserved recognition. The beauty lies in the Harry Connick Jr style crooning from Louie Austen, which is a million miles away from the distorted, distant vocals which characterized house in 2011. Sunglasses, terraces, tans - lovely.

Emma picks: Todd Terje - Inspector Norse TODD TERJE - Inspector Norse by toddterje

Trust in Todd to bust those back to school January blues. This is a glorious piece of synth heaven from the Norwegian prince of nu-disco, whose own productions just keep going from strength to strength.

Terje is renowned for his sense of humour and if the title of this track wasn't enough to prove it, apparently the whole EP was inspired by his favourite Monty Python sketch 'It's The Arts', with a wonderfully bonkers sleeve designed by Norwegian illustrator Bendik Kaltenborn adorning the vinyl.

In a recent interview with RA, Terje said that he's bought so much music equipment recently that he felt each deserved its own release. It's The Arps EP is his tribute to the ARP 2600 synth. And what a tribute it is.
