Donna Summer - Our Love (Alkalino edit)
Donna Summer - Our Love (Alkalino re-edit) by Alkalino
Got to have a tribute to the queen of disco in dancefloor bombs this week, so here's a suitably respectful re-work from Portuguese DJ and producer Alkalino. He's been steadily uploading some wicked disco remixes and edits on SoundCloud over the last six months and this went up almost immediately after news of her death broke yesterday. I love the vocals used in this edit and heard them sampled on so many dancefloors before I actually worked out what she was singing. Our love will last forever.

Girl Unit - Ensemble
Girl Unit - Ensemble (Club Mix) by coolgoddang
This is the sound of a drum machine having an orgasm. It sounds like everything Prince did in the 80s because Prince had a shaman like control over the Linn LM-1, and could make it do things people only ever dreamt about in apocalyptic future-media films like Videodrome. Plus there's nothing quite like the sound of a synth wobbling like on a knackered VHS. Fortunately this makes a good effort in combining both of those things and turns it into one big success for Girl Unit and Night Slugs.

Damon Martin - That Ain't Right
DBB001 - Damon Martin 'That Ain't Right' (Clips) by Disco Bloodbath London
The inaugural release on Disco Bloodbath's new label comes from Bloodbath crew member Damon Martin, and what a belter it is. Sampling Black Mamba's Paradise Garage classic 'Vicious' to full effect, a dark brooding beat gives the NY attitude vocals a sinister turn. You've messed this woman about and she's snapped, and you're gradually realising she's locked the door, you're tied to the bed, and she's about to cut your balls off.
