Proud Group announce NYE relaunch for Matter - Greenwich's one and only super club

Further to yesterday’s news that Greenwich super club Matter will be reawakening after a summer’s siesta – The Proud Group today announce that they will be the ones to take up the baton from Fabric, trying to prevent this South-East London behemoth from becoming the Millennium Dome of clubbing…

Launching their takeover with a Vegas/Cirque du Soleil inspired NYE special ‘CIRQUE’, the group plan to host a stream of circulating Friday and Saturday pop-up club nights at the iconic venue throughout January and February 2011.
Many Matter fans will wonder how Proud plan to overcome problems with location and transport that became the venue’s Achilles Heel in the past. The rather ingenious solution they have found is to provide their own super-efficient transport services for NYE and throughout the January and February residency.

Although most acts for the New Years Eve extravaganza are still to be confirmed the Fuel Girls’ notorious ‘Black Magic Show’ aimed at ‘beautiful people and twisted minds’ is already on the bill,  while there’ll apparently be a host of live performers including fire-breathers, aerialists, stilt walkers, trapeze artists and tattooed snake-charming models, utilizing the space to its full potential.

Alex Proud states, ‘I am thrilled to run a number of speculative events at this iconic venue starting with New Year’s Eve. I wanted our Proud @ Matter nights to offer clubbers something completely different; bringing Vegas style clubbing to London with a combination of theatrical shows, live music and big name DJs in a venue that aims not only to serve our customers but take care of them!”
