They're back!

90s dance legends Orbital are back in the game. After playing a smashing headline set at Glastonbury's Arcadia this year, they have now announced that their first album in eight years will be released in 2012.
Many of their chiming, stripped back sounds were 90s rave anthems which also achieved commercial success. They famously wore Anti-Poll Tax t-shirts on their first top of the pops appearance and became known for keeping their feet firmly in the underground.
The two brothers - Phil and Paul Hartnoll - are finally reunited after a decade of solo projects. Their upcoming (as yet untitled) album "is a kaleidoscope of everything we like about electronic music,” says Paul. “But the biggest influence on this album has been two years of playing live, listening to old Orbital music. We wanted to make music that we would like to play live. It had to ebb and flow like a live set.”
Their Arcadia appearance this year certainly had acid house spirit - the Orbital vibe which hopefully will unerpin the new album. It's being mixed by superstar producer Mark “Flood” Ellis, whose impressive list of past collaborations includes Depeche Mode, PJ Harvey, U2, Nine Inch Nails and The Killers. “Working with Flood is the most exciting thing for me,” says Phil. “He is so well respected, and we get on really well with him.”
The have also announced a UK tour for 2012.
5 April - Manchester Academy
6 April - Leeds Acedemy
7 April - Glasgow ABC
8 April - Liverpool Academy
9 April - Cambridge Corn Exchange
10 April - London Royal Albert Hall
