Bargains, Film Stars and Nazis: Editor's Choice - Theatre

Bargains, Film Stars and Nazis: Editor's Choice - Theatre

10 June, 2011
by: Naima Khan

Every Friday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Naima Khan selects her top three plays.

From Monday 13th June
Gitta Sereny's In Quest of Conscience @ Finborough Theatre
A dramatisation of the interview between critically acclaimed biographer, historian and journalist Gitta Sereny and Franz Stangl, the Nazi in charge of euthanasia. Dark, yes, but I have a feeling this is going to be completely compelling.

From Tuesday 14th June
Hand-Me-Down @ Tristan Bates Theatre
An epic one woman show that takes the audience across continents over decades of times via the objects found in a charity show. I spoke to director Steve Gilroy about this show last week and it sounds like writer Kate Craddock has an indomitable imagination.

From Tuesday 14th June
An Actress Prepares @ New End Theatre
Another piece of theatre based on an interview but this time, Marilyn Monroe is in the hot seat. In her last interview Monroe reveals what it took to become such an unforgettable star.
