Death, Destruction and Tea: Editor's Choice - Theatre

Death, Destruction and Tea: Editor's Choice - Theatre

26 August, 2011
by: Naima Khan

Every Friday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Naima Khan selects her top three plays.

From 30th August

'night Mother @ Old Red Lion Theatre
In this Pulitzer-prize winning play, a daughter plans her suicide while she puts the house in order for her mother. I have high hopes for the Old Red Lion Theatre's production of this brilliant amalgamation of all things funny, matter-of-fact, and predictably dark.

From 31st August
A Dish of Tea with Dr. Johnson @ Arts Theatre
Out of Joint bring to life the man who created the dictionay. Full of literary wit and a guest appearance by Trudie Styler, this looks like a stellar biographic tale.

From 2nd September
Disco Pigs @ Young Vic Theatre
One of Enda Walsh's most unsettling plays, Disco Pigs looks at the sincere but twisted relationship between two soulmates.
