by: Naima Khan

Every Monday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Naima Khan selects her top three plays

From Monday 8th
Bette Bourne and Mark Ravenhill @ Soho Theatre
Bette Bourne is no run of the mill Soho drag queen. He's an actor, he's an activist, he challenges the definition of a man and Mark Ravenhill has turned his extraordinary life into a three act play delving into one man's view of contemporary British society and what got us here.

From Wednesday 10th

Heldenplatz @ Arcola Theatre
Condemned in Austria when it first opened, Thomas Bernhard's play reveals the irrational prejudice and decadence that infested the influential classes of 1980s Austria and their 1930s counterparts. It follows the Schuster family who fled Austria in 1938 and 50 years on, though Vienesse at heart, still feel exiled.

From Thursday 11th

The Shape of Things @ Cockpit Theatre
This ain't your regular boy meets girl scenario. In this taught psychological romance, unassuming Adam meets abrasive Evelyn and calls into question our morals and attitudes to relationships. Click here to read Nuria's preview.
