The Big Story & If I Ruled The World @ BAC
Running consecutive mini-festivals is a feat that only a few unique venues like BAC can pull off. With a tonne of secret little spaces to take advantage of The Big Story sees acts and installations around the building for a different takes on the performances. If I Ruled The World is a youth-focused series of art, music, politics and theatre events. The feel good I Hope My Heart Goes First which is on Friday 26th and looks great as does the intriguing From Where I'm Standing on Saturday.
The Big Story's most prominent show is Return by spoken word artist Polarbear which is in the grand hall this week. We've reviewed it and it's ace.
From Wednesday 24th March
Bedroom Farce @ Duke of York Theatre
Having done brilliantly at Rose Theatre, the classic British romp courtesy of Ayckbourn transfers to the West End and opens at Duke of York Theatre mid-week. Ben was lucky enough to interview Daniel Betts who plays opposite Finty Williams as one half of a youngish couple rowing their way through a lull in marital dynamics.
Thursday 25th March
Ill Met By Moonlight @ Artsdepot
A heady, sound-focused take on A Midsummer Nights Dream by Trestle Theatre and rising theatre makers Moon Fool. Both companies are known for their extraordinary physical theatre; so combined with masses of musical instruments and multi talented performers, this promises a truly surreal forest full of impish mischief.
