Eggs, Entertainment and Convoluted Storytelling - Editor's Choice: Theatre

Eggs, Entertainment and Convoluted Storytelling - Editor's Choice: Theatre

16 September, 2011
by: Naima Khan

Every Friday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Naima Khan selects her top three plays.

From Tuesday 20th
Constance @ Kings Head Theatre
Entertaining goes awry for industrialist William Daventry and his aristocratic wife Constance. Her perfect credentials are put to the test as a group of high-octane guests gather their home to disect the  upper-middle classes in this unearthed Oscar Wilde play.

Wednesday 21st September
The Queen of the Court of Claywood Flats @ Soho Theatre
More excellent animated storytelling from Crick Crack Club. Expect bewildering but hilarious characters and a highly entertaining, brilliantly convoluted plot.

From 23rd September
Cool Hand Luke
@ Aldwych Theatre
Marc Warren stars in this West End production based on Donn Pearce's novel about a resilient individual stuck in the Californian prison system. Friday sees the first preview kick-off and we'll finally get to find out if they'll have Warren eat fifty eggs on stage. What am I on about? Read this preview.
