Forum, Scratch and New Writing: Editor's Choice - Theatre

25 November, 2011
by: Naima Khan

Every Friday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Naima Khan selects her top three plays.

From Monday 28th November
Cardboard Citizens @ Toynbee Studios
Last year one of our contributors, Jo Sutherland, went along to Cardboard Citizens forum theatre production of Or Am I Alone Yet? and she raved about it. This year, the play is provided by a hugely talented emerging writer Bola Agbaje who explores what happens when your life begins to unravel.

From 29th November
PapaTango New Writing Festival @ Finborough Theatre
The PapaTango New Writing Festival begins its four week run on the 29th. Last year's was full of risky new ideas expertly realised and here are 5 reasons I will not be missing this year's.

Wednesday 30th November
Standby for Tape Back Up @ BAC
This scratch night has one of the most intriguing premises. Ross Sutherland has found one of his grandfather's old VHS tapes with a mess of old footage on it. There's Robbie Coltrane in Tuttii Frutti, Tom Cruise in Cocktail, and an episode of The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air and Ross wants to somehow use this footage to tell his life story.
