London Film Festival - What to see - 23rd-24th October

14 October, 2010
by: Naima Khan

Naima Khan selects the best films playing this weekend at the London Film Festival.

Saturday 23rd October
Upside Down: The Creations Record Story @ Vue Leicester Square
6.15pm
With the formerly rat-arsed “President of Pop” Allan McGee telling his own story and some of music’s living legends like Bobby Gillespie and Noel Gallagher relating the rise and fall of Creations Records, expect a sharply edited whirlwind of acid house and drugs. And the best soundtrack ever. Click here to read the review

Saturday 23rd October
Lemmy @ BFI (NFT 1)
9pm
To quote Dave Grohl on Lemmy Klimister, subject of Greg Oliver and Wes Orshoski's documentary, “Lemmy's a living, breathing, drinking and snorting fucking legend. No one else comes close”. Ergo, go see this.

Sunday 24th October

Hands Up @ BFI (NFT 2)
1.45pm
Acting is often most impressive when it comes from children. Hands Up is part of London Film Festival's French Revolutions section and creates a portrait of young social dissidents protesting current immigration policies in France with a fantastic child cast.
