Poetic Circus, Contemporary Dance and Irish Writing: Editor's Choice - Theatre

Poetic Circus, Contemporary Dance and Irish Writing: Editor's Choice - Theatre

15 July, 2011
by: Naima Khan

Every Friday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Naima Khan selects her top three plays

From Tuesday 19th July
Wunderammer @ The Barbican
A display of circus with a soul is presented by Circa in this physically impressive and poetic piece.

From Wednesday 20th July
The Beauty Queen of Leenane @ The Young Vic
This dark, comic look at a twisted mother-daughter relationship centres on 40 year-old spinster Maureen whose one shot at love is threatened by her overbearing mother. This play exudes loneliness and pent-up resentment.

From Friday 22nd July
Cloud Dance Festival @ Pleasance Theatre
Emerging and established contemporary dancers come together in this three day festival of modern dance.
