Russell Tovey, Homer's Odyssey and Chickens: Editor's Choice - Theatre

27 January, 2012
by: Naima Khan

Every Friday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week ahead. Naima Khan selects her top three plays

From 31st January
Happy New @ Old Red Lion
A linguistic feat of a play that sees two adults dealing with the trauma of their childhood on the night they are due to leave home. Brendan Cowell's comment on celebrity and the way we turn people into commodities is a compelling contradiction.

From 1st February
Sex With A Stranger @ Trafalgar Studios
Russell Tovey and Jamie Winstone star in this play about relationships and testing ones resolve. Adam meets a girl in a club but his perfect gentleman facade doesn't last.

From 2nd February
The Paper Cinema's Odyssey @ BAC
Inspired by Homer's Odyssey, the story of a man on a treacherous journey home, is retold imaginatively with live animation and a live score at Battersea Arts Centre.
