According to our sources, it's looking good for Mr Hudson

At this time of the year the press is full of people predicting who's going to big next year. But what do they know? It's the guys on the frontlines standing in freezing record shops, writing blogs or get crushed at the front of the Barfly who really live it, so rather than ask the normal hacks, we decided to ask them instead.
Here's what we found out
Flashback Records, Islington
Which artists will be big in 2010?
Erm. That Yeasayer album should be awesome. Really enjoying Fool's Gold too [both scheduled for a late January, early February release].
What London-based event are you excited about in 2010?
ZZ-Top in Vicky Park. Seriously, it will be huge.
Current line-up features: ZZ Top and Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Foreigner, Martin Turner's Wishbone, Ash, Focus, Uriah Heep, and Marillion. More to be announced. See http://www.highvoltagefestival.com for further details.
What do you hope to see in 2010?
Better recognition for the Dirty Projectors.
What do you hope not to see?
Any more of those meagre ‘80s revival bands!
Is there any reunion left to see? If not, who would feature in your 'dream dinner party'-style reunion?
Hendrix, Bon Scott, Billy Gibbons, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page.
HMV, Islington
Which artists will be big in 2010?
I quite like Mr. Hudson, I guess.
What London-based event are you excited about in 2010?
I dunno, really want to get to some festivals, like Reading.
Cool, anything in London...
Erm, that Virgin one?
Yeah, not in London. Maybe Wireless?
Ok.
What do you hope to see in 2010?
Mr. Hudson to get better.
The Kanye influence didn't really work, did it? Who'd you prefer to see at the helm?
Dunno really, something more vintage; something returning to that Library sound.
What do you hope not to see in 2010?
Any of that Girls Aloud rip-off stuff.

Which artists will be big in 2010?
I think 2010 could be quite a good year for new music, especially messy/dirty/fun bands. Saying that, I think everyone should look out for Sparky Deathcap. He's touring with Los Campesinos! in January and thoroughly deserves to be huge. Whether he'll be huge is another thing though. If we're going for people that I think will be huge, even If I'm not a super fan, I'd go with Marina & The Diamonds or Delphic. We're also working with a band that are gonna be huge. They're called Chapter 24 and they're awesome!
What London-based event are you excited about in 2010?
I've heard some of the Camden Crawl ideas and I have a feeling it's gonna be their best year yet!
What do you hope to see in 2010?
I'd like Stagecoach to make their debut album and get the praise they deserve. I'd also like to have some fun bands make it big and for everyone to have a good time. That's my hope anyway!
What do you hope not to see in 2010?
That's a difficult question to answer without offending anyone! I'm not a huge fan of electro-pop. I really don't want to see Ellie Goulding doing her more commercial electro. I'd rather she went back to when she was a little bit more interesting. So yeah, not her in that way, please!
Is there any reunion left to see? If not, who would feature in your 'dream dinner party'-style reunion?
I think if bands split up, that should be it. Their name gets auctioned off to the next band that wants it and we all go home happy. Saying that, I wouldn't mind seeing At The Drive-In back in action. That would make my heart smile.
Thanks to everyone who took part. Make sure and visit their shops this year!
