T Bar Closes

T Bar closes suddenly due to financial reasons.

Another club closes in a calamatous time for London clubs. With the closure of Matter 'for the summer', Fabric going up for sale, and the refurbishment of Plastic People until August, T Bar has now become the latest victim. Having re-openned only just over a year ago after a change of venue, the Houndsditch club has already succumbed to financial difficulties.

The announcement was made last night, with the delivery of a heartfelt Facebook message reading: "It is with great sadness that I have to announce that T Bar is now closed. After six and a half years of incredible music, outrageously good times and spectacular memories we are calling time on the T Bar rave."

T Bar was famous for both it's outstanding line-ups, having played host to the likes of Justin Martin, Ivan Smagghe, Simian Mobile Disco and many other huge names, as well as it's free entry policy. A recent announcement stating that they were to start charging for entry hinted at the possibility of some financial issues but nobody knew that it was this serious. Sadly ever since it's relocation, T Bar never quite reached the same popularity levels that it once held, partly down to the fact that it was so hard to find, and the new venue simply lacked the same party vibe of the old one.

A true London clubbing institution, the venue will be sorely missed but by the sounds of things there's no chance of a resurrection this time around. Boo.
