Bolly Belly Kick Review

Bolly Belly Kick Review

With an instructor who's spicier than a vindaloo, this Egyptian-cum-Bollywood aerobics class should be on any fitness fanatics' New Year menu.

You do work up a fair sweat, shaking your wobbly bits to remixes of chart hits and Bhangra beats, but concentrating on your graceful arm movements and fancy footwork means you don't notice you're burning more than 370 calories an hour.

The class lasts one hour and consists of a series of increasingly complex and high energy 'Chutney Shaking' moves. The easily embarrassed should steer clear as all inhibitions are left at the door, Mischa the belly dancing guru doesn't hold back on sound effects and flamboyant hip wriggling and neither do her students.

Accuracy is not the aim of the game. Having an a giggle at yourself and letting go whilst shedding a few surplus pounds is what it's all about - all in a friendly environment and set to a great sound track: brilliant!

Rhythmic belly and booty shaking is in no way restricted to Bhangra beauties: blokes make up roughly one third of the Saturday class and they were loving it.
