Every Friday our editors bring you their personal highlights of the week to come. Acting Comedy Editor Sarah Kendell selects her top three gigs.

Monday 5th - Sunday 11th September
Greenwich Comedy Festival @ Old Royal Navy College

London's biggest comedy festival returns to the grounds of the Old Royal Navy College this week with a typically fantastic line-up of the circuit's heavy hitters. Headliners include hugely popular Australian musical comedian Tim Minchin, Royal Variety Performance star and loveable cockney geezer Micky Flanagan, and Perrier winner Milton Jones. Catch these big names and more under the Big Top Tent for what will no doubt be some unforgettable sets.

From Thursday 8th September
Scipmylo Comedy Festival @ Shoreditch Town Hall

As part of the wider Scipmylo (it's Olympics backwards, geddit) festival of arts, music and film celebrating just under a year to go till those much-talked-about games, this festival brings some of the UK circuit's best names to the East End, in the conveniently central venue of Shoreditch Town Hall. The likes of sardonic comic magician Jerry Sadowitz, 'comedian's comedian' Simon Munnery and Eddie nominee Andrew Maxwell will present the best of their fresh-from-Edinburgh material.

Friday 9th & Saturday 10th September
Adam Buxton: BUG - The Evolution of Music Video @ Kings Place & Old Royal Navy College

One half of 6Music's Adam and Joe, Buxton presents special one-off sessions of his cult music video comedy night at both the King's Place Festival and Greenwich Comedy Festival this week. From clips made by a 17-year old with a stills camera to Michel Gondry, from YouTube viral hits to the latest stuff from the top directors and artists, Buxton will showcase his favourite music video talent peppered with his own insightful and hilarious contributions.
