Now in its third year, this independent booksellers fair in Shoreditch offers outsider writers and comics artists a chance to network and join forces. For casual fans, it's the literary equivalent of an attic full of rare groove.

Retrospective-One at Kemistry

A fourth anniversary retrospective at Kemistry, a gallery which has built a great reputation for design. The show features on-off pieces by alumni who have gone on to fame including the likes of James Joyce, Parra and Geoff McFetridge: in all, a credit to the Kemistry team and an enjoyably diverse exhibition.
Best For: Clean lines, neat ideas

Hackney Wicked
A free three-day arty festival organised featuring Bike Polo with Gilbert & George and Hackney Wicked Cricket with Comedy Terrorist, Aaron Barschak. Plus Artists vs Estate Agents Monopoly and an art car-boot fair.
Best For: Outdoor fun and food with added art appreciation

An Experiment in Collaboration

Experts in the fields of computer animation, biophysics, fashion and psychiatry have collaborated with a whole host of contemporary artists to produce a range of experimental and conceptually challenging works.
