Things to do in Westminster

About Westminster

Home to the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben, Westminster encompasses all the famous London landmarks. Popular with the tourists, there’s rarely a quiet moment in this part of town, but it’s always possible to escape a lot of the crowds by going for a walk along the River Thames and taking in London’s skyline.

If the tours of Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament aren’t your style take a river boat trip along the Thames to the Tate Britain gallery which is guaranteed to be putting on an exhibition worthy of your attention.  For something more light-hearted, cross over to the Southbank where there’s fun to be had on the London Eye and at the London Aquarium. Finally, after a hard day’s sightseeing there’s no better place to while away the evening than Gordon’s Wine Bar, the oldest wine bar in London.

The biggest scene in Westminster is undeniably a political one but there’s still lots going on to entertain. For the culture vultures Westminster obviously has lots to offer from its famous landmarks through to the Tate Britain. At night the scene is dominated more by pubs than clubs with the Tattershall Castle and Red Lion both offering comedy nights to their punters.
