Booze and art - the perfect combo.

If there's one thing that unites all art critics it's an undying love of the sauce. Of course, Anthony Haden-Guest leads the way, but Spoonfed's Arts Editor also likes to think that, given time and practice, he may well be able to establish himself as the heir apparent. To this end, it's great to hear that a host of contemporary artists have got together to mix some cocktails for SUNDAY Art Fair, taking place at P3 in Marylebone at the same time as Frieze.
Fiona Banner, Liam Gillick and Bob & Roberta Smith are just some of the big name contemporary artists who've agreed to mix up some cocktails as part of Ryan Gander's entertaining project, Ryan's Bar. At £50 they're pretty steep for cocktails, but excellent value as a piece of contemporary art. We particularly like the sound of Liam Gillick's cocktail, entitled Maybe it would be better if we worked in groups of two and a half, 2010, the instructions for which are as follows:
One small straight glass filled with ice.
Fill entire glass with decent vodka.
Squeeze half a fresh lime into already filled glass.
The drink should spill over the edge of the glass.
With no Zoo Art Fair this year, a space has opened up for someone to put on something exciting and innovative. The Future Can Wait will definitely be a good 'un, but SUNDAY – taking place in London for the first time – looks like being the most fun. Plus, it's in Ambika P3, a massive underground space on Marylebone Road, and a short walk from Frieze, and it's free. Splendid.
SUNDAY Art Fair is at Ambika P3 from 14th-16th October 2010.
