Capture Hackney! And help to document a changing borough, for ever.

Hackney – the finest of all the London boroughs? Well it's certainly a contender, we reckon. The main administrative hub is the area around Hackney Central, and it typifies the new-look Hackney. There’s the elegant ‘30s Town Hall, a massive 24-hour Tesco, a 13th century church tower, some beautiful Victorian terraces, and a number of council blocks. There's also the Hackney Empire, Victoria Park, London Fields, loads of pubs, Vietnamese restaurants, art galleries and some splendid bus links. Truly Hackney has something for everyone.
Anyway enough bias from us, if you love Hackney too (or even if you hate it) you might be interested to hear that the wonderful people over at Shoot Experience have teamed up with Hackney Museum and one of Spoonfed's favourite photographers, Stephen Gill, to put on a little Hackney-based photography competition.
To enter Capture Hackney simply take a picture that truly captures the spirit of Hackney (as if such a thing were possible!) and submit it before 17th September 2010. The winning entries will be exhibited in Hackney Museum this October and then placed in Hackney Council's archives for evermore.
Cllr Jonathan McShane, Cabinet member for Community Services said: "Hackney is currently undergoing huge change and we are calling on London's photographers to help us capture this amazing period to provide a visual legacy for future generations."
