Designer Goodies for £1? The Poundshop is back in time for Christmas!
30 November, 2011
by: Spoonfed Arts Team
A shop selling all sorts of quirkily designed bits and bobs for just £1 opens on Redchurch Street this December.

Woo hoo! It's back! The marvellous Poundshop returns, just in time for some recession-busting Christmas shopping action.
Since it first opened on Hoxton Street back in 2010, the Poundshop has gone from strength to strength - last year saw queues of people desperate to get their mittened paws on some designer goodies when they popped up at Somerset House just before Christmas. This time they're Downstairs at Mother, the super-cool creative agency on Redchurch Street in Shoreditch, for a special evening on 9th December. The shop is then open online only until 11th December.
The brainchild of freelance illustrator Sara Melin and design collective Household, the Poundshop features not the usual tat one buys in Dalston pound shops, but a whole host of original and genuinely cool bits and bobs, all for just a solitary £1. There's everything from homeware to music, stationary, prints, mirrors and tea towels. Very cheap and very cool - we can't wait!
To attend the special evening opening, join the Poundshop mailing list. Places severely limited!
