London Cocktail Week! We can barely contain our excitement...

London Cocktail Week

When: 11th-17th October 2010
Where: London-wide
How much: events individually priced

If ever there were a festival that sounded like it was designed purely just to appeal to Spoonfed's booze-addled Arts Editor, then surely this, London Cocktail Week, was it? Well, perhaps London Sherry Week would be even better, but until some bright spark (hurry up Gonzalez Byass already) launches that, then he'll just have to make do with London Cocktail Week.

Launching in October 2010, the first ever London Cocktail Week divides roughly into two parts. There's a series of wicked sounding events taking place – like whisky seminars, opportunities to meet the experts, tastings, Tanqueray dinners, parties, mixology masterclasses, and the splendidly entitled RumFest. Best of all, it all kicks off at 9am every morning with full English breakfasts and Grey Goose Bloody Marys. They say it's never too early to start drinking, and by 'they', we of course mean 'we'...

The second aspect of London Cocktail Week sees over 50 of the finest bars in London offering £4 discounted cocktails to the 5,000 people who sign up online to receive LCW wristbands. In addition from Monday to Friday, 6pm – midnight, there are special LCW buses to take you home. Which, we're sure you'll agree, is a rather lovely little touch.

This literally sounds like the best week ever, although the fact that it also bleeds into Frieze Week means that by the end of it all, our poor old Arts Editor could be in serious trouble. Oh well, he'll only have himself to blame.

Registration and ticket sales begin on 1st September. We'll keep you updated with news and things as we get it so we'll make sure you don't forget. We're just so gosh-darned thoughtful like that.
