Fashionistas flood the capital.

Yes, it's London Fashion Week, when twice a year London gets flooded with the rich, the haughty and the beautiful. Black-clad fashionistas strut through this capital's fair streets, jotting, judging, sneering and quaffing vast quantities of free champagne.
But this September London is being flooded in a different way. Contemporary fashion designer Richard Sorger has envisioned the city underwater: the River Thames has burst its banks, London is submerged, and the only safe haven is – unlikely as it may seem – none other than Catch, the champagne bar at Andaz Liverpool Street.
As part of both the London Design Festival and London Fashion Week (Why do the two coincide? It's just ridiculous!) Sorger has reimagined the venue as an underwater paradise – surrounded by jellyfish, inspired by his Spring/Summer 2011 collection, La Méduse.
In addition, Andaz is hosting a load of other fashion and design-themed events kicking off on 18th September. There's 'craft' afternoon tea, a pop-up L Bar, a light installation by Simon Heijdens, new wallpaper designs by Cole & Son, and a Veuve Clicquot-commissioned sleeping capsule. Champagne, fashion, art and design: a heady combo indeed.
