Louis Vuitton launch an innovative new scheme to get London's young people into art galleries.

Louis Vuitton

Internationally renowned luxury fashion brand Luis Vuitton have announced the launch of a new project designed to involve London's young people in the capital's ever-bustling arts scene. In partnership with five of London's most prestigious arts institutions, the Louis Vuitton Young Arts Project aims to “extend opportunities to younger, often less privileged people to access the art world”.

By teaming up with the Hayward Gallery, Royal Academy, South London Gallery, Tate Britain and Whitechapel Gallery, Louis Vuitton is organising a three-year arts and education programme which sees the creation of five 'panels' of London-based young people, aged between 13 and 25.

These groups – chosen from the five galleries' existing networks with local communities – will be given special tours round exhibitions, and will take part in workshops and special creative sessions, led by some of the capital's most prominent artists, collectors and museum directors.

Yes, it's partly to promote the opening of the New Bond Street Maison, but the project also shows that even massive luxury conglomerates like Louis Vuitton can occasionally give something back.
