Launching in 2011, MERGE is a new arts and music festival springing up across various venues on Bankside. Over the course of two months, all manner of different events are taking place in a diverse array of venues – from the river walkway by Tate Modern to a vacant office block, from Bankside Mix to historic local buildings, shops, bars, cafes and various open public spaces.

All manner of people are involved in the festival – including the Hip Hop Shakespeare Company, Fiona Banner, Jamie Reid, Philip Jeck, and Arturo Vega, the designer behind the Ramones. Highlights include Banner's take on Snoopy v The Red Baron taking place in a Southwark church, and Peace is Tough – an exhibition showcasing the archive of Reid – the man responsible for the Sex Pistols' famous imagery.
