Information, updates and news for Photomonth 2010.

When: October/November 2010
Where: across East London
How much: individual events vary
2010 sees the tenth anniversary of the wonderful, innovative institution that is Photomonth, a month-long photography festival that takes place across East London and beyond. And this year – with over 200 exhibitions and events falling under the Photomonth umbrella – it looks set to be bigger and better than ever before.
Set up in 2001, Photomonth seeks to showcase the diversity of contemporary photography in all its many forms and styles: the festival is not only a major boost for all galleries and photographers involved, but also a wonderful collation of goings-on for anyone with even a passing interest in photography.
With so much happening, it's tough to pick out highlights, but we'll try cos we're nice like that. There's the Capture Hackney exhibition at Hackney Museum (involving the ever-amazing Stephen Gill); the pun-tastic eatyourartout – across a range of bars and restaurants; HOST Gallery's 'Historia' exhibition exploring memory and narrative; the wicked-sounding Armageddon-themed Goodbye London at Museum of London; Edmund Clark's searing indictment of Guantanamo Bay at Flowers; and a photography workshop with the completely brilliant Toby Smith.
2010 is also the first Photomonth to take place after the opening of the snazzy new East London Line, and to celebrate, photographers Heather McDonough and Rod Morris have worked with the London Transport Museum to exhibit a series of locally relevant photographs on the platforms of Dalston Junction, Haggerston, Hoxton and Shoreditch High Street.
