Wine tasting with Spoonfed and Kaleid Editions @ Saison Poetry Library

Spoonfed are co-hosting an art opening and wine-tasting at the Saison Poetry Library. The event is in collaboration with artists' books gallery Kaleid Editions, who are curating a series of exhibitions at the library as part of the anniversary of the Festival of Britain, and Io Bevo Romagnolo, an Italian association of vineyards, producers and restaurateurs. Art, books, wine - what's not to like!

Ryan Gander's Night School @ ICA

Since 2010, hot young contemporary artist Ryan Gander (who has a cool Artangel project opening in London at the end of August) has held monthly discussion groups in his East London studio. Saturday 13th August
Made in Britain @ Southbank Centre
Free, 5.30pm
At a time when there's much talk about trying to revive Britain's flagging manufacturing industry (so that we're less reliant on the financial sector and 'services') Made in Britain explores some of the key issues. BBC economics expert Evan Davis leads a discussion on the future of production in this country – particularly in light of issues such as free software.
Thursday 25th August
Edible London @ The Idler Academy
£30, 6.30pm
With the massive success of Noma, René Redzepi's Copenhagen restaurant, the idea of foraging for ingredients is a very popular one right now. And now you too can learn how it all works by spending an evening pottering around West London with forager Robin Harford. Afterwards you get to return to the garden for a light supper including the ingredients you've just foraged. Wicked, huh?
Tuesday 30th August
How Much Does Style Matter? @ The Wheatsheaf
Free, 8pm
Based around an anecdote involving Jacques Derrida, this debate – organised by the guys behind Big Ideas – explores ideas around the importance of writing style in contemporary philosophy. Issues around clarity, logic, continental vs analytical philosophy, and the ability to separate form from content will all be touched upon. Dr Mark Rowe leads the discussion.
