So it turns out that Hannibal Lecter is something of an artist in his spare time. That's right – Sir Anthony Hopkins has a solo show at Gallery 27 on Cork Street opening on Wednesday 17th February.

Open for four days this February, the exhibition features abstract paintings and landscapes by the Oscar-winning Welsh actor. After picking up a brush in 2002, Hopkins apparently paints every day at his house in Malibu, and according to exhibition promoter Jonathan Poole, “takes his art very seriously”.

After exhibitions in Canada and America, this is Hopkins' first show in Europe. About 50 works will be on show with prices ranging from £600 for a limited edition print to £26,800 for one of the larger paintings.

Sir Anthony Hopkins is at Gallery 27 from 17-20th February 2010.
