This June, the much-loved South London Gallery is getting bigger, and even better.

The South London Gallery is expanding. Having raised £2 million – largely from private donors, trusts and the auction of works donated by artists who've previously exhibited with the gallery – the new extension will be open from 25th June 2010.
By taking over a three-storey house next door, South London Gallery have been able to create three small-scale gallery space and a cafe that looks onto the street as well as a flat which will provide accomodation for a programme of artists' residencies. The new Clore Studio will also apparently quadruple the gallery's education and community outreach activities.
Located on Peckham Road, South London Gallery is one of London's most consistently innovative and respected contemporary art galleries. In the last few years alone they've held exhibitions by the likes of Ryan Gander, Steve McQueen, Marck Titchner and Keith Tyson. Their most recent exhibition – Michael Landy's Art Bin – was probabyl their most successful to date, with a widespread and positive critical response.
