Mobile phones and roller skaters come together in the interactive London adventure game, Speed of Reaction.

Remember laser quest? Or as me and my posse called it, Zap Zone? Well, if you swap laser guns for roller skates and the dark hole under Megabowl for the busy streets of London, throw in some techy code mumbo jumbo, films and a splash of art, and you get Speed of Reaction – an interactive street game soon to rock the capital.
On 27th March urban roller skaters will set off from the Foundry in east London in search of vital technological clues to proceed in the game. Special QR or 'quick response' codes (little mega-pixel- esque barcodes which can be scanned by camera phones) will help competitors navigate and even communicate with one another as they whiz around on their skates between the allocated S.O.R stations. In the true interactive spirit of things, the skaters become artists and their puzzle solving ability becomes one great big performance piece.
The Speed of Reaction is open to all, so if you think you've got what it takes to withstand the physical and mental cut and thrust of the game, can roller skate without inflicting undue harm to yourself or other unsuspecting members of the public, and have a mobile phone snazzy enough to scan QR codes then get your skates on (literally) and head over to the Foundry. Or, if this all sounds a bit strenuous, all the content produced as part of the game will form the Speed of Reaction exhibition also at the Foundry between 6th-10th April.
