Artist Spencer Tunick calls for Big Chillers to shed their clothes in a bid to create his latest piece of living art work.

Packing for a festival can be such a hassle. You've got to balance the practical/waterproof/mud proof ratio, get the bohemian, cool, neon party reveller thing sussed, and then cram it in a bag only to then sacrifice most of it for more valuable items such as godsend dry shampoo and alcohol and baby wipes. What a palaver. And don't even get us started on the footwear issues.
But who needs clothes? No really – at Big Chill this August you most certainly don't, as artist Spencer Tunick co-ordinates a mass disrobing, all in the name of art, of course. Renowned for his urban site-specific performance nude installations, Tunick is now turning his attentions to a more natural artistic backdrop. The artist will create a human performance piece at this year's festival set to rival some of his most infamous installations. The piece might even upstage his most recent landscape – 5,000 tanned volunteers with gleaming white-bottoms standing in line outside the Sydney Opera House. Although it won't just be the bottoms that are pasty white in Herefordshire.
Exhibitionists take note: this will be Tunick's first installation at a European music festival and will form part of the Big Chill festival's on-going visual arts programming, the Art Trail. So for all those thrill seekers, secret naturists or those with a pert derrière who want to pose against the majestic backdrop of Eastnor's Castle Deer Park, all you need to do to take part – if you haven't done so already – is buy a festival ticket. And don't worry, there's lots of pretty good music acts confirmed so they'll be plenty to keep you occupied when you're fully dressed too.
The Big Chill Festival takes place 5-8 August at Eastnor Castle, Herefordshire.
