Spoonfed presents: An Exclusive Evening at Camden Arts Centre

Spoonfed are holding a cool event at the ever wonderful Camden Arts Centre this December. And we want you to come!

Simon Starling

At Spoonfed we like to think we encourage people to get the most out of London. But sometimes telling people about wicked events can only get you so far; sometimes we like to take people by the hand, literally.

Camden Arts Centre is one of our favourite contemporary art spaces in London, always working with the highest calibre artists. This winter they're celebrating 20 years of their brilliant artist residency programme with Never the Same River (Possible Futures, Probable Pasts), a group show curated by Turner Prize-winning artist Simon Starling, who completed a residency at Camden Arts Centre in 1999. The exciting news is that Spoonfed are putting on an exclusive evening event there, just for you, our readers.

On 16th December Camden Arts Centre's exhibitions organiser Gina Buenfeld will be leading a special tour around the exhibition, explaining a little about the history of the institution and about the unique challenges faced by Starling's fascinating concept for the show: the artist has cherry-picked works from past exhibitions at the gallery, works which will then be exhibited in exactly the same location as they were last time, alongside various notes, images and plans. This really must take some planning.

Featuring work by the likes of Francis Alÿs, Francis Bacon, Keith Coventry and Mike Nelson, the exhibition (as the title suggests) is both a riotous celebration of the gallery's past and a glimpse into its potential future.

This sounds like a brilliant exhibition, and we're delighted to be teaming up with Camden Arts Centre for what promises to be a uniquely insightful (and entertaining) evening. In addition, anyone who knows Spoonfed's Arts Editor will also be aware of his fondness for the sauce, and to keep him happy, we're obviously putting on a few drinks for everyone who joins us.

Spoonfed presents: An Exclusive Evening at Camden Arts Centre is on 16th December 2010, 6pm-9pm.

This event is free but we have a strictly limited capacity. To be in with a chance of attending, please fill in your details in the form below. Places will be allocated to the first names who enter.
