Art, and beer, and wine, and all for free. Don't say we don't spoil you!

Royal Academy / Mason and Taylor

Now this is exciting news! Spoonfed have teamed up with our new favourite bar to bring you an evening of wine, beer and art at one of the world's leading arts institutions. And we're inviting you!

On 6th October at 6.30pm we'll be hosting a special event that combines viewing art with some rather fine refreshments in the beautiful Weston Rooms of the Royal Academy of Arts, on Piccadilly. The event celebrates the 3rd exhibition of the Artists' Laboratory series, which right now comprises over a hundred exquisite landscape drawings by Nigel Hall. Drinks are provided by the brilliant folks at Mason & Taylor.

Based just off Redchurch Street in the heart of the East End art scene, Mason & Taylor are a craft and real ale bar specialising in sourcing and presenting the best that the world's independent breweries have to offer. There's a particular focus on London micro-breweries, as well as interesting and unusual selections of wines and spirits: these guys find the best and the most unusual stuff out there, so you don't have to. Rather like a certain website we could mention...

Aside from the sauce, the other exciting element is obviously the art that's on show. The concept behind the Artists' Laboratory series is to allow a Royal Academician the time and the space to do something a little bit different, and exhibit work that diverges from their usual practice. Nigel is best known for his slickly organic abstract sculptures, but for this exhibition he's showing over 100 sketches, mostly of landscapes from across the world. While showing the same appreciation of form and space as his better known works, these drawings also demonstrate a sensitivity to something a little less carefully controlled.

In short, it's a brilliant exhibition – and beautifully curated. This is an amazing opportunity to see these works for free, whilst also enjoying a glass of wine or beer in wonderful surroundings. Don't say we don't spoil you...

Spoonfed presents An Evening with Nigel Hall is at the Royal Academy, Piccadilly W1J 0BD from 7pm until 8.30pm on Thursday 6th October. This event is free!

Places are extremely limited. Please email exhibitions@spoonfed.co.uk with the subject line 'Spoonfed presents Nigel Hall' in order to reserve your spot.
