Information, updates and news for Portman Village Summer Lounge Street Party 2010.

Portman Village

When: Wednesday 22nd September 2010
Where: Seymour Place and New Quebec Street
How much: Free!

There's nothing quite like a street party. And when that street party is taking place near delightful Marylebone (Portman Village to be precise), it just makes it all the better. Wednesday 22nd September sees the boutiques and restaurants on Seymour Place and New Quebec Street, both situated just north of Marble Arch tube station, club together for a day of art, music, fashion, and foodie fun.

Throughout the day, the streets will play host, apparently, to “London's ultimate street lounge experience”, which basically means that there's going to be art exhibitions, DJs, poetry, wine tasting, shopping discounts, comedy, tarot readings and a vast array of delicious food – from India, Mauritius and Apulia in south east Italy.

In the evening, there's a big old fashion auction, presented in association with ON/OFF for London Fashion Week, featuring pieces by Vivienne Westwood, John Galliano, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada and the high priest of art-chic minimalism, Osman Yousefzada. Yousefzada's studio will also be hosting a wicked sample sale during the day, and the man himself will even be on hand to provide fashion tips.
