Fashion illustration magazine Sketchbook brings a Pop-Up shop to Carnaby's Newburgh Quarter.

Calling all lost, disillusioned and dithering creative souls in London! Chin up, and put your best foot forward to Carnaby Street's Newburgh Quarter, to a pop-up shop-cum-creative careers advice centre with a difference. And don't fret – there's not a Deloitte, KPNG or PricewaterhouseCoopers in sight to lure you in with the promise of free stationery and then bamboozle you with tedious pecuniary patter. “Hoorah!” you chorus.
The Pop-Up Show, the brainchild of the fabulous Sketchbook fashion magazine, will be popping up at 10 Newburgh Street for a three-week foray into the worlds of fashion, journalism, art and design, part of the celebration of Carnaby's 50 years of fashion and music. True, the likelihood of picking up a stash of afore mentioned free biros might be a bit slim. But the chance to listen to those in the know preach from the creative gospel, join in educational workshops, hear lectures of the fun variety and even check out some exciting new bands is a rarity you can not afford to miss.
From 31st March to19th April, visitors to this delightful shop will be able to meet a number of Sketchbook's contributing bloggers, artists, designers, illustrators and editors, and mingle with the cream of the contemporary fashion and arts industry. In week one, blogger Susie Bubble will lead a discussion panel in debating the pros and cons of the print-versus-online debate. Week two sees Rashi Khouri, founder of online store Dia Boutique pass on her online store know how, and a discussion on the all important Bs – blogs and brands – will round things up nicely.
A series of 'Getting Started' chats will run throughout and limited edition prints, illustrations and one-off art pieces will be on sale in the shop. Plus a competition will be running throughout, giving budding illustrators the chance to pick up their pens and pencils and submit front cover designs to be used for future Sketchbook editions.
Ooh, and last but not least there's even 'Sketchbook Sundays' when you can sit back and watch the Sabbath pass by with the aid of cupcake and live music. Look out in particular for Personal Space Invaders playing on Sunday, 4th April. Over and Out.
The Pop-Up Shop will be at 10 Newburgh Street from 31st March-19th April.
