Turner Prize shortlist announced. Let the controversy commence!

In a short presentation in the Clore Gallery at Tate Britain this morning, the 2011 Turner Prize shortlist was announced. The four contemporary artists vying for the £25,000 first prize are: drum roll please... Karla Black, Martin Boyce, Hilary Lloyd and George Shaw.
For the first time ever, the exhibition is to be held at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, following Tate's announcement to alternate the exhibition between London and the rest of the UK.
The shortlisted artists were selected by a jury, chaired by Penelope Curtis, Director of Tate Britain, and comprising directors of major art institutions, Katrina Brown, Vasif Kortun, Nadia Schneider and Godfrey Worsdale. Unusually the jury includes not a single art critic - perhaps a sign that the press are tiring of the annual hoopla?
And the controversy? Well there's normally something for the tabloids to get their knickers in a twist about. We're predicting it'll be Karla Black, whose contribution to British Art Show 7, on show until recently at the Hayward, was, um, a big pile of soil.
