Artifact – Worn
After putting out solid gold material from T Williams, Throwing Snow and the huge Brandy and Coke from DJ Q, Local Action come back with a bouncing garage banger from Bristol’s Artifact on a limited edition white vinyl. If you like this sound of this, he’s playing at The Nest next month. All over it.
Wobblejay - You Got My Time
This week’s ‘90s-esque house monster comes courtesy of Steven J, aka Wobblejay. You’ve Got My Time is hidden away on the B-Side of his latest release on City Fly, but the warmth of the bassline rolling underneath those stabbing chords and gritty drums make this the standout tune of the EP.
Machine – There But For the Grace of God Go I
Don't normally do this but I'm going down and getting one from the vaults. This tune is almost 35 years old and it sounds as fresh today as it did then.
Machine were a group put together by one August Darnell (aka Kid Creole) who made two albums before disbanding, leaving the club world with one of its biggest anthems, tackling social prejudice as well as making the dancefloor go sick (as it still does when this tune gets dropped today). Big hi-nrg Paradise Garage vibes.
