The force is strong this week.

Rhye - The Fall (Maurice Fulton remix)

Maurice you old tease. Probably one of the most criminally underrated DJ/producers in the game never ever fails when it comes to remixing duty, once again proving you needn’t be ramping up the BPMs or caning the bass bins to make the dancefloor feel the love. Gently does it.

Detroit Swindle - Brotherman
They may not actually be from Detroit, but that doesn’t matter in this day and age – apparently Julio Bashmore isn’t even Spanish. That vocal loop is smooth as a motherfucker, and the drums and pads take the whole thing to the next level. My favourite record of the month so far, and hats off to Freerange for another solid release.

Chris Malinchak - All Shook Up
It’s late - you and Rick James have just nicked the Batmobile and you’re driving around with the roof off, slowing down at the curb so Rick can smack the booties of passing women. Fierce record, no two ways about it, and full of that sinister energy which fuelled Hot Creations back when it was good. While we're on the subject of Rick James, it was announced this week that Detroit Swindle's massive Jick Rames is due out on wax in December, bitch.
