Hypercolour switch party venue from London Pleasure Gardens.

More worries for the Docklands site.

Yet another promoter has taken the decision not to use the London Pleasure Gardens for their event. After the fiasco at Bloc, with venue planning and layout problems one of the many reasons cited for the festival's early closure, this time Hypercolour have moved their showcase featuring Groove Armada and Todd Edwards to Gt Suffolk St Warehouse. It's the second time this month a party has been pulled from the Pleasure Gardens, which incidentally Spoonfed found neither pleasurable nor very garden-like, with Puscha also switching venues a fortnight ago, giving no official reasons. Hypercolour co-owner Jamie Russell however, says

“We had concerns about the location of LPG what with it being smack bang in the middle of the Olympic Zone. The event is happening on the last night of the Olympics and we can foresee some serious headaches for you all both to and from the event!!”

Fair comment and probably a wise decision. But has Jamie only just realized that his event falls on the last night of the Olympics? It's been in the calendar for months. Or is there another reason for these last minute changes of heart from promoters? The mind wanders....

As it stands however, mulletover are still going ahead with their Halloween party in November at the LPG, with promoter Rob Star saying defiantly that they “will not be moving the event unless forced to do so by the relevant authorities”. Bank Holiday mainstays secretsundaze also have their event planned at the LPG for the August weekend, that is unless 'relevant authorities' have anything to say about it.

Good job we're not betting folk here at Spoonfed....
