Big Chill Rides To Glade's Rescue

Big Chill, Global Gathering, Sunrise Celebration and Standon Calling are to offer Glade ticket holders the chance to swap their tickets.

As you’d probably heard by now, Glade Festival has been cancelled due to spiralling costs, but like some white knight riding to the rescue Big Chill Festival is offering Ticketline customers the opportunity to swap their ticket for the Eastnor Castle Deer Park event on 5th- 8th August.

One of the UK’s best loved dance and electronic festivals, Glade has been forced to cancel the festival yesterday, leaving fans looking forward to seeing Orbital, Simian Mobile Disco and Geddes understandably bummed out.

A statement on the Glade Festival website explains that the orgainisers “fought hard to maintain the integrity of the event against steadily increasing restrictions imposed by local authority and police. The resulting compromises have led to increased costs, increased ticket prices and a throttling of the very essence of what we wanted to do.”

But it’s not all doom and gloom, as this morning’s offer of a ticket swap gives you the chance to use your Glade ticket to check out this year’s Big Chill Festival, which is not only held at Glade’s former home of Eastnor Castle Deer Park, but also gives punters  the chance to check out Massive Attack, M.I.A, Thom Yorke and Zero 7.

Any festival goers who purchased full price Glade Festival tickets via Ticketline for £135, can contact Ticketline requesting to swap their Glade ticket for an Adult Weekend Big Chill ticket. Glade ticket holders will be charged an additional transaction fee of £7 per ticket swapped, meaning that they’ll get a Big Chill ticket which would have cost them £155 + £7 booking fee for £135 + £7 booking fee instead, saving them £20. Not bad eh?

Update

Global Gathering have now jumped on the bandwagon and offered Glade ticket holders the chance to exchange their tickets for their dance music festival in July. Ticket holders are being asked to call Ticketline for more information.

The festival will be celebrating its tenth year this year so the line-up is expected to be one to remember. Headlining acts include Faithless, Dizzee Rascal and Chase and Status so if you think this festival ticket is worth as much as your Glade ticket, get dialing.

Sunrise Celebration have also stepped in to help Glade out by offering ticket holders the chance to exchange their tickets. Sunrise is held in the first weekend of June. The festival regularly hosts  diverse underground acts from tents such as The Bimble Inn and Chai Wallahs.

To exchange your ticket for a Sunrise Celebration ticket call Ticketline, tickets for the festival are priced at £87 (£25 cheaper than normal) and there is no booking fee. The £38 difference will be refunded via Ticketline.

Standon Calling have now also offered a ticket exchange for their festival this year in August, although the line-up's not really on the same level as Glade - it's mainly bands and less dance acts - it might be nice to give it a go and try something new.

Call Ticketline if you want to exchange your Glade ticket for a Standon Calling ticket.
