Big Green Gathering

Big Green Gathering

30 March, 2009
by: Spoonfed Festivals

Cheddar, Somerset July 29th - August 2nd 2009

One of the world's biggest and most successful green festivals, the Big Green is a project in sustainability; a festival which educates as well as entertains.

Music, dance, craft, food and farming, healing, permaculture, markets and fairgrounds can all be found there - all of which are powered by the sun, the wind and the people.

Many people arrive by horse and trap, on bikes, in lift shares or having walked and hitched their way to the site. It is for those who are concerned about the environment, have an interest in green issues, sustainability and the future of our planet in general.

It's a big event - with around 20,000 people expected this year. It's also 5 days long which - like Glastonbury - make it more of a temporary town than most festivals.
