Launched in 2003, City Showcase is a free music festival held over three days which helps to provide a platform to aspiring artists. Previous acts who have appeared there and gone on to big success include Amy Winehouse, Razorlight, Keane, Hot Chip and loads more. The festivals features all types of music from classical to pop, rock to urban and every kind of performer from bands to singer songwriters, solo artists to DJs. As well as helping artists with contacts and tips for success in the business, City Showcase also features a load of live gigs and workshops held around West End in various shops, bars and clubs.
Any artists that want to showcase their work should send a CD demo with a MySpace link or weblink, a brief biography and a photo to City Showcase, PO Box 2212, RH20 2XJ. Clearly mark your envelope as a City Showcase application. Alternatively musicians may apply through www.sonicbids.com/cityshowcase.
