Create Your Own Area At Glade

Cop a grand by designing your own area at Glade Festival.

The infamous Glastonbury offshoot Glade was voted Best Large Event at Breakspoll 2010. Now in its seventh year, they have continued to push the boundaries and their programming remains second to none in electronic music terms.

This year they have pioneered a number of exciting schemes for ambitious young entrepreneurs and creatives. They are offering three £1,000 grants and a handful of backstage tickets to people who would like to produce their own area.

"We're looking for people with creative ideas who think differently and can bring off-the-wall, kooky ideas to Glade. Stuff that's interactive and gets people creatively involved in the festival" says Nick Ladd, Creative Director.

"We've been going to Burning Man for the last few years and the show there is 100% generated by the people that attend the festival. As a result, the creative diversity is mind-boggling. We are bringing a bit of that vibe to the UK"

Glade have also started a Glade Union Program - a London student ambassador scheme in which the festival recruits students as marketing partners to help promote the event and sell tickets at their unis on a commission basis. Unis involved are Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, Southampton, Portsmouth, Oxford Brookes, Exeter, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Plymouth and Cardiff.

Student applicants can join the selection process here. "Any students interested in festivals, promotion, events and marketing should really be up for it" says Nick Ladd. "There's a fat bonus scheme for the most successful reps."

There is also a £2,000 arts bursary up for grabs for the best proposal for an art installation that will be built at Glade 2010. Downlaod an application form here.

Glade occurs at Matterley Bowl, Winchester on Thursday 15th - 18th July 2010. There are a few limited advanced tickets at £110 and normal price is £135. Gates open at 4pm on Thursday 15th.
