As the biggest arts festival in the world, the Edinburgh Fringe is unsuprisingly the number one tourist attraction in the UK; last year it sold over 1.9 milllion tickets and put on over 2453 different shows. An open arts festival, anyone can perform any kind of show there be it theatre, comedy, music, magic, dance, exhibitions or cabaret - it isn't constrained by any one vision, but be prepared to pay if you want to perform.
Comedy is currently the biggest aspect of the festival followed closely by theatre; last year 35% was made up of comedy, 29% theatre and 16% music. The programme has yet to be announced but check the fringe website for updates.
