Farmfest

Line-ups, updates and news for Farmfest 2011.

When: 29th - 30th July 2011
Where: Gilcombe Farm, Somerset
How much: £30 adult weekend, £18 child weekend

Heading into its fifth year, Farmfest is a real rustic affair. It's a two-day deal that blends the usual ingredients of live and DJ music with anti-corporate sentiment (all the money raised is donated to the charity Practical Action), foodie culture and - in the promoters own words - plenty of randomness.

Their ethos is to promote local showcases and the festival is pleasingly chilled. In 2010 the crowd was treated to an eclectic line-up featuring the return of legendary DJ Vadim and Bristol’s finest Smerin’s Anti Social Band. Heavily touted and tipped breaking acts such as Egyptian Hip Hop, Wild Palms, Standard Fare, Bearsuit and Nedry will also also played the FarmFestival stage along with many other fantastic and exciting bands.

The 2010 event featured a quality dub and reggae tent courtesy of High Grade Rockers Dub Sound System and a main marquee showcasing a range of singer-song writers, bands, comedians and sheer oddities.

It's a family affair, with a special campsite for families and their kids. The food is provided by the farm crew and is only organic with a good choice for veggies and vegans.
