Line-ups, updates and news for Field Day 2012

When: 2nd June 2012
Where: Victoria Park, London
How much: £39.50 + booking fee
The East End's coolest festival is back for its sixth outing in Victoria Park this year and, adding many more feathers to their already brimming cap, festival promoters Eat Your Own Ears are bringing us such musical delights Metronomy, Franz Ferdinand, The Vaccines, Django Django and Modeselektor.
Last year it was the brilliant SBTRKT who are headlined, plus The Horrors, The Coral, Warpaint, Factory Floor, Gruff Rhys, Mount Kimbie and John Cale from Velvet Underground. Field Day has built a reputation as a festival that supports and celebrates new music, so in addition to the main acts, expect some brilliant performances by up-and-coming bands lower down the bill and on the smaller stages. You never know, you might well find yourself watching the next big thing; Florence and the Machine played back in 2007, well before her world domination.
At just £39.50 per ticket, Field Day is arguably one of the best value festivals around, and you do get a lot of music for your money, a great mix of new bands and more established artists, a whole host of extra activities and a fantastic atmosphere from bands and festival-goers alike. The festival has consistently grown and improved every year, and with such a promising line-up and four years' worth of experience under its belt, this year could easily be the best Field Day yet.
